Experienced batsman Ross Taylor is dismissed for 11 after he dragged the ball on to his stumps off the bowling of Dushmantha Chameera, who is making his debut in this game. New Zealand had earlier lost Martin Guptill for a duck and Tom Latham for five as New Zealand lost two wickets within the first over of their innings. Grant Elliot is the new batsman for New Zealand.

Sri Lanka had earlier set New Zealand a target of 288 to win the seventh and final One-Day International (ODI) at Wellington. Kumar Sangakkara scored an unbeaten century and Tillakaratne Dilshan made 81 to propel Sri Lanka to 287 for six in their 50 overs. Sri Lanka would be disappointed as they will feel that they fell at least 20 runs short after a promising start.

New Zealand have already won the series, but Sri Lanka will be playing for pride ahead of the ICC World Cup 2015. The two teams face-off once again in the opening match of the World Cup, which starts on February 14.
