New Zealand take on West Indies in semi-final 2 of ICC Women’s World Cup T20 2016 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday. The White Ferns are yet to face a defeat in this tournament, while the West Indians are coming off a loss and three wins from the four group stage matches. New Zealand went past the likes of Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Ireland, on the other hand, West Indies lost to England and won the matches against Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. The winner of this match will face Australia in the grand finale of world T20 on April 3 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. New Zealand and West Indies Women will be led by their regular Twenty20 International (T20I) skippers, Suzie Bates and Stafanie Taylor respectively. The West Indies women’s team has been in the World T20 semifinals four times before but skipper Stafanie Taylor on Wednesday said that this time her team is determined to cross the hurdle and go into the final. “Today during training, I said in the meeting that four times we have been in the semi-finals and this time around it is not against Australia, so that is a surplus, but definitely we want to cross this barrier, we have been here so many times and know how to approach it,” said Taylor on the eve of the women’s semifinal tie between West Indies and New Zealand.
