Following their 2-0 drubbing in the two-Test series versus New Zealand, West Indies will want to come back stronger in the limited-overs. Nonetheless, they have already lost their key players ahead of the first ODI on December 20. Marlon Samuels and pacer Alzarri Joseph have been ruled out of the shorter format. While Samuels injured his right hand, Joseph is out of action with a back strain. Adding more to the list of wounded men, off-spinner Sunil Narine will miss the T20Is due to personal reasons.
West Indies are also without the services of Sunil Ambris who has a fractured forearm. Sheldon Cottrell, Chadwick Walton and Shimron Hetmyer will join the ODI squad. Walton is also part of T20I squad. Meanwhile, Shai Hope replaces Samuels, and Ashley Nurse will fill in for Narine in T20Is.
