An unbeaten half-century by Amit Choudhary and a six-wicket haul by Rakesh Thapliyal helped North Zone get the better of East Zone by 92 runs in the SJFI’s inter-zonal J K Bose Twenty20 tournament on Wednesday.
Riding on Choudhary’s brilliant 54-ball 85 not out studded with 12 fours and a six, North Zone scored 170 for three in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, East Zone folded for a just 78 with Thapliyal claiming six wickets for just eight runs in 3.1 overs.
In another match, South Zone registered an eight-wicket win over West Zone.
After West Zone reached 174 for seven in 20 overs, South Zone chased down the competitive target successfully in just 17.5 overs.
For South Zone, skipper Satish Viswanathan led from the front, scoring 64 off 50 balls with the help of 11 fours and a six.(PTI)
