The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed former Indian cricketer Hrishikesh Kanitkar as the head coach of India A squad as they get ready for a two-match England tour.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly made a decision that they will be appointing former Indian cricketer Hrishikesh Kanitkar as the head coach of India A team for their upcoming England tour- set to begin May 30.

India A is going to tour England, which will consist of two first-class matches against England Lions in Canterbury and Northampton. After these two matches, the tour is going to conclude with a final clash as they face senior Indian Men’s cricket team. This tour is of significant importance as it is going to help as preparations for the Indian senior team’s five-match Test against England- which is going to begin June 20.
Hrishikesh has played for India in both Test matches and One-Day Internationals. He also had a successful career in domestic season, as he collected over 8000 runs. He is now going to spread his experience to help develop Indian cricket.
Hrishikesh Kumar previously has had experience with the Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the Indian Premier League, along with him being currently involved with the Maharashtra domestic team. Kanitkar is known for his calm nature, and also has notable contributions in developing young talents across all formats of game.
