History will be created when USA host Papua New Guinea on September 13 in Fort Lauderdale in the first match of the second tri-series of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. It will be the first time that an ODI will be played in USA.
The tri-series also includes Namibia.
The six-match series is part of the qualifying tournaments for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. The three participating teams will each play four matches in the space of 11 days, all in Fort Lauderdale from September 13 to September 23.
Four of the 36 ODIs that USA, PNG and Namibia will play each, over the two and half year competition take place in Fort Lauderdale with a maximum of eight points up for grabs for each team.
The first tri-series of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 was held last month with PNG finishing winless and will target their first points in the USA.
