Afghanistan batter Ibrahim Zadran is one of the reason that the team won their Champions Trophy 2025 match against England. Afghanistan team is playing their maiden Champions Trophy, and registered their first win of the tournament against England.

Zadran suffered an ankle injury in September last year, for which he had to undergo a surgery. On his social media handle, he shared a few pictures where he was seen walking on crutches when he was on his way to recovery. During his knock of 177 runs against England, he broke a significant amount f records, and praised his fans for all their support.

Being away from the game for months was one of the toughest challenges I’ve faced, but I promised you all that I would return stronger, hungrier, and more determined than ever. Alhamdulillah, today was a step in that journey. This inning means so much to me, but even more special was the spirit the team showed. Azmat’s all-round brilliance was the difference when it mattered most,” wrote Zadran.

Afghanistan team were off to a slow start as they lost three wickets early on. However, Zadran dominated the English bowlers by scoring the highest individual score in the history of Champions Trophy, scoring 177 runs and helping the team post a grand total of 325 runs.
