ONGC lifted the 11th All India Public Sector T20 Cricket tournament, sponsored by Air India and supported by RCF, by registering a 13-run victory over BSNL in the final at the MIG ground on Friday.

Batting first, ONGC reached a competitive total of 175 for seven, riding on Mayan Tehlan’s 40-ball 54 with the help of seven fours and a six and Taruwar Kohli’s quick-fire 48 off 25 balls including three fours and as many sixes.

In reply, BSNL could muster only 162 for eight and were indebted to number 7 batsman, Sanjay Bamel’s blistering unbeaten 60 in only 32 balls to keep them in the hunt till the end after they were tottering at 87 for 6 at one stage.

Bamel struck six fours and four sixes but his effort went in vain as ONGC stopped his side well inside the target.

Kohli bagged 2 for 25 to emerge as the star performer of the day and won the man-of-the-match award.

Meanwhile, RCF lifted the Plate Group title by beating Central Warehousing Corporation by 25 runs in the final. (PTI)
