Concerned over recent vigilance enquiries into the financial investments of some franchisee owners, Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) has decided to debar tainted bidders from the next edition of Orissa Premier League (OPL).
OCA officials on Monday told reporters here that they have decided not to allow any person facing vigilance enquiries to bid for any of the OPL team from next year.
Association also denied the reports of raid on its premises saying that they were just served couple of letters by the investigating agencies.
“We received only two letters from the vigilance department and the income tax department about the investments made by certain franchisee owners. And we have submitted the relevant documents to them,” OCA Secretary Asirbad Behera, said.
“The bidders submitted their bid amount through demand drafts, how can we find out whether the money was black,” Behera said when asked that some of the owners had pumped in blackmoney in OPL.
