Born on October 22, 1978, Owais Shah celebrates his 36th Birthday on Wednesday. Born in Karachi, Shah has played six Tests and 71 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for England. A renowned T20 batsman, Shah has played for a number of teams over the course of his career: Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Delhi Daredevils in Indian Premier League (IPL), and for others like Dhaka Gladiators, Hobart Hurricanes, Cape Cobras, Jamaica Tallawahs, Middlesex.

Shah made his Test debut against India in 2006 at Mumbai, a full five years after making his ODI debut against Australia in 2001. He was unlucky never to enjoy an extended run in the ODI squad, and could perhaps have played more than just six Tests. In T20s, he remains an asset for any team he plays for, but much like Brad Hodge, is usually left out to accommodate “younger” players.
