India will take forward a 162-run lead, with five wickets remaining. India dominated the whole of first session on Day 2, as Rahul rode towards his third Test century. But West Indies fought back in the final two decisions, and ended the day dismissing four Indian batsmen.
First to be dismissed was Cheteshwar Pujara, who was run-out for 46. After that, Rahul and skipper Virat Kohli formed a good partnership, before the former was dismissed for 158. After that, Kohli was dismissed for 44. The day got better for the hosts, as they removed first Test centurion Ravichandran Ashwin for just 3. But Rahane and Saha stood tall, and hung till the end.
Earlier, India managed to bowl out the hosts for 196, thanks to another fifer from Ravichandran Ashwin. The off-spinner became only the third Indian bowler to take fifer’s in three consecutive Tests. For West Indies, Jermaine Blackwood was the only batsman to score in excess of 50, as the other players got starts, but failed to convert them.
