Joe Root smashed a double century in the ongoing 1st Test against Pakistan in Multan, marking his sixth double century in the format.

England batter Joe Root smashed a double century in the ongoing first Test match against Pakistan in Multan. This marks the sixth double century by Root in the Test format of the game. With this double century, Root has came to the same level as Legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Virender Sehwag.

Root received a char of luck when Babar dropped his catch when he was on 186 runs. Root did not let this opportunity slide and utilised it to the fullest as he reached this impressive milestone.

As he reached the 200-run mark, he took off his helmet and kissed the badge on it. This double-ton marks his second major achievement in this Test against Pakistan.

Root surpassed India’s legendary batter Rahul Dravid, who had scored five double centuries in his Test career.
