Pakistan selectors Thursday announced a 16-man Twenty20 squad for the three-match series against England starting later this month. The first match will be played in Dubai on November 26 followed by the second, also in Dubai, the next day with the final match in Sharjah on November 30. Meanwhile, Iftikhar Ahmed has been named as 16th member of ODI squad to fill in the slot that fell vacant following Younis Khan’s retirement. On the other hand, Umar Akmal was not considered for T20I squad as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued him a show cause notice for bringing Pakistan Cricket into disrepute. Scorecard: Pakistan vs England 2015, 1st ODI at Abu Dhabi

After winning the three-match Test series 2-0, the hosts aim to seal the 50-overs series as well. They won the opening One-Day International (ODI) at Abu Dhabi by six wickets after bowling out the opponents for 216 with two balls to spare. In reply to that, Pakistan needed 43.4 overs to chase the target with four wickets to spare. The second ODI is scheduled to be played on Friday in the same stadium.

Meanwhile, the first game was veteran Younis Khan’s last in the coloured jersey for Pakistan. The national selectors had in a surprise move recalled Younis for the four ODIs against England after ignoring him for this format since the World Cup early this year in Australia and New Zealand. Since March 2013 when he played in South Africa, Younis was picked for only 11 ODIs by the selectors putting a big question mark on his future in the 50-over format.
