Spinner Abrar Ahmed and batter Kamran Ghulam were both recalled back by the Pakistan team for the second Test against Bangladesh which is set to commence from August 30 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. At the time when the first Test was going on, both Abrar and Kamran were playing for the Pakistan Shaheens against Bangladesh ‘A’ from August 20 to 23.
Abrar is expected to extract turn on subcontinent pitches and provide Pakistan with an extra spin option while Kamran on the other hand, is a solid middle-order batter who would help in bringing depth and stability to the batting order.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan’s spearhead fast bowler, has also rejoined the squad after being released at the conclusion of the first Test.
“Abrar Ahmed and Kamran Ghulam have joined the Pakistan Test squad ahead of the second Test match against Bangladesh, scheduled to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 30 August to 3 September,” said PCB in a statement released on Wednesday.
In addition, emerging all-rounder Aamir Jamal has also been added to the squad for the second Test. However, Jamal’s fitness will decide as to whether or not will he make an appearance in Pakistan’s starting lineup. Jamal has been working on his fitness at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after being released from the squad earlier.
