Pakistan coach Gary Kristen and Jason Gillespie have made request to the Pakistan Cricket Board to not be quick in removing skippers and give them longer time period in order to bring results.
Some reports that came out a few days ago reveal that after a disappointing game, Babar is about to be removed from captaincy.
Babar was removed from the white-ball captaincy after the team was dismissed from the round-robin exit in the ODI World Cup and his replacement, Shaheen Afridi, was also removed after one series which resulted in even bad result.
In Test cricket as well, Babar stepped out as captain, which he was followed by Shah Masood replacing him. Though, as the team lost 10 Tests under captaincy of Shah, calls have been made to remove him as well.
“There has been no discussion on changing the captains as the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has left it up to the two coaches and selectors to decide on the captaincy,” said a PCB source.
“And Kirsten and Gillespie are very clear that Shan and Babar both need to be given a proper run before judging their leadership abilities,” the source added.
The source added that both Gary and Jason want the leadership to be continued and have given this message to the PCB. The board is notably going to conduct a workshop very soon.
“That workshop is being held to hear the views of all stakeholders, mainly the domestic team coaches, selectors and contracted players so that the board can bridge the gap between domestic cricket and international cricket standards,” the source told

“The workshop is being held because both the coaches want the domestic team coaches to have a clear picture of what is required from them to ensure a flow of players who can be considered for selection for the national teams in all formats,” the source added.
