The controversy regarding the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. The BCCI have already made their intentions clear of not sending the Indian team to Pakistan in order to participate in the tournament. However, PCB also stand firm on their stance of hosting every match of the ICC event in Pakistan only.
The tournament was scheduled to commence from February 18, however due to the stand-off between PCB and BCCI, the future of the ICC event has now become quite uncertain. It will be interesting to see when the ICC will announce the official schedule for the tournament.
A hybrid model has reportedly been accepted by both the PCB and BCCI and it has also been agreed that all tournaments played in India till 2027 will have a hybrid model in place.
Recently Wasim Akram made a surprising appearance at a Coke Studio event in Dubai. Although the ICC hasn’t confirmed anything yet, the legendary cricketer looked fairly confident about Pakistan hosting the entire tournament.
