A high level meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board reviewed the performance of the national team in the recently-concluded ICC World Twenty20 and decided to make the use of Kookaburra cricket balls compulsory in domestic matches.
The meeting of the Executive Co-ordination Committee (ECC) was chaired by PCB chairman, Zaka Ashraf and attended by the board’s chief operating officer, director-general cricket, director international cricket operations and director security and vigilance.
The officials decided that in future before all tours a camp will be held for the national team at the cricket academy in Lahore.
The ECC also invited Mohammad Hafeez,(Twenty20 captain) Dav Whatmore (head coach), Naveed Cheema (manager), Mohammad Akram (bowling coach) and Iqbal Qasim (chairman, National Selection Committee) to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the team.
“On the input of the team management and selectors it has been decided that in future before every FTP tour or series a camp should be held at the cricket academy,” a board official said.
“The ECC also unanimously decided to use Kookaburra balls in both first class and limited-over domestic cricket,” he added.
The ECC formed a committee comprising Shafiq Ahmed Papa and Mohammad Akram, which would present its report in next ECC meeting. (PTI)
