Legendary Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram gave his opinion on India’s first-ever series whitewash at home against New Zealand and said that the Men in Green will have the advantage if they were to play Tests against their neighbours on spinning tracks.

This statement comes after the Kiwi spinners dominated against the Indian batting order especially in the second and third Test while on the other hand, it was the Pakistan spin duo of Sajid Khan and Noman Ali, who carried them to the series triumph against England.

Akram was in conversation with former England skipper Michael Vaughan during their commentary stint in the first ODI between Australia and Pakistan in Melbourne on Monday when he made the massive claim.

“I would want to see a Test series between India and Pakistan,” remarked Vaughan to which Akram replied: “It will be massive. It will be good for the game, for two cricket crazy nations.”

“Pakistan have a chance to beat India in Tests now on a spinning track. They have been hammered by New Zealand 3-0 at home,” Akram added.

Vaughan also affirmed that Pakistan will have the advantage over India on spinning tracks by saying: “Pakistan can now beat India on the turners.”

The last time that India and Pakistan faced each other in a Test series was back in 2008 when the Men in Green toured their neighbours. It was the Men in Blue, who ended up coming out on top in the 3-match series by winning the first Test and then drawing the next two.
