THE BUZZ for the highly-anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan at the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is once again as high as ever after ICC rescheduled it to October 14, on Wednesday.
Former Pakistan cricketer Aqeeb Javed recently said that Pakistan have what it takes to beat India in India as Babar Azam and company is a much more balanced side in comparison with the Men in Blue. He also said the Indian team would struggle because their fitness is not up to the mark.
“I think Pakistan side is balanced and the age graph of players is much better, India are on that stage where they have big names but their fitness and form is not up to the mark. They will struggle and might have to find new players to form a combination. I think Pakistan have a great chance of beating India in India,” Aqeeb Javed was quoted as saying to Cricwick.
Pakistan Announce Squad For Asia Cup
PCB announced the Pakistan squad for the Asia Cup and the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, on Wednesday. Shan Masood, Ihsanullah, and Imad Wasim failed to find a spot on the team.
Fast-bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and middle-order batter Tayyab Tahir on Wednesday were included in Pakistan’s squad for the Asia Cup as well as ODIs against Afghanistan.
India will be facing off against arch-rivals Pakistan in the group stage of 50-over Asia Cup 2023 on September 2 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. If India and Pakistan make it to Super Four stage, they are then slated to meet in Colombo.
