A soggy outfield and rainfall ensured that second day’s play between India and West Indies gets abandonment without a ball being bowled in the fourth and final Test at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain. Rain and a saturated field meant that no overs were added to the 22 overs on the opening day of the match on Thursday. West Indies are currently placed at 62 for 2 in their first innings with Kraigg Brathwaite not-out on 32 and Marlon Samuels not-out on 4. India lead the series 2-0, but they need to win the fourth Test and attain a 3-0 series win inorder to prevent Pakistan from overtaking them at the top of the ICC Test Rankings.With rain being predicted on all the remaining three days, it is becoming highly unlikley that India will keep hold of their No.1 ranking. Full Cricket Scorecard: India vs West Indies, 4th Test match

India are currently ranked No.1 with 112 points, while Pakistan are at No.2 with 111 points. Pakistan levelled the 4-Test series after their win against England at The Oval, trailing 2-1 heading into the final game. Australia who were No.1 before the start of their series with Sri Lanka are now placed No.3 with 108 points. Australia are closely followed by England with 108 points at No.4. New Zealand who won their last series in Zimbabwe are placed just above 99 points at No.5 completes a close and compact top 5.

Speaking of New Zealand, their bowlers held the advantage on Day One of the first of two -Test against South Africa at Durban. South Africa meandered to  to 236 for 8 at the close of play after deciding to bat under overcast conditions, with the floodlights on for most of the day.
