Mohammad Abbas’ maiden five-wicket haul helped Pakistan bowl out West Indies for 247 on Day Four of the third Test at Roseau, Dominica. It did not take long for Pakistan to bowl West Indies out on the fourth day. West Indies resumed the day’s pay on 218 for 5 and managed to add just 29 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. With that, West Indies conceded a first innings lead of 129 runs. However, West Indies bounced back well as they removed Azhar Ali for three and Babar Azam for a duck. Just 37 runs were scored in the first session and as many as 7 wickets fell. Pakistan go to lunch at 8 for 2 and have a lead of 137 runs with eight wickets in hand. However, it was Mohammad Aamer, who started this collapse. He got rid of Shane Dowrich in the very first over of the day for 20. It was then the Mohammad Abbas show. He has dismissed Vishaul Singh on Day Four, but managed to get the wickets of Roston Chase, Devendra Bishoo, Alzarri Joseph and Shannon Gabriel in quick succession to finish with 5 for 46 from his 25 overs. After Dowrich was dismissed in the first over, Chase walked out to bat after he had retired hurt for 60 on Day Three. West Indies bowlers will now have to bowl really well and make sure they dismiss Pakistan cheaply, else they will be chasing a huge score in the fourth innings.
On Day Two, Pakistan were bowled out for 376 after a superb century from Azhar Ali. Misbah-ul-Haq, Babar Azam and Sarfraz Ahmed too scored important fifties. Chase with four wickets and Holder with three were the pick of the West Indies bowlers.
West Indies won the toss on Day One and elected to bowl first. West Indies did not make any changes to their XI. Pakistan on the other hand made a couple of changes. They handed a Test debut to Hasan Ali in place of leg-spinner Shadab Khan. Also Shan Masood came into the side in place of Ahmed Shehzad, who had to fly home due to personal reasons. The three-match series is level at 1-1.
