The evaluation of Pakistan’s terrible Champions Trophy 2025 campaign is being done. Pakistan became the first team who got knocked out of the Champions Trophy 2025, which is a tournament that the nation itself is hosting. Everyone including the players to the coaches, to the selectors, to the board, are being examined after the Men in Green witnessed an exclusion from the tournament.
Pakistan team began their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign with a loss to New Zealand, followed by getting beat by India. A report by PTI then stated that Pakistan interim coach Aaqib Javed and rest of the coaching staff might get removed after the Champions Trophy 2025 comes to an end.
To add to all this ongoing crisis, in a talk show with former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja and Nikhil Chopra, former Pakistan star pacer Wasim Akram revealed a shocking aspect regarding the selectors in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“Aapke waha first-class cricketer nahin hai? jo selector hain (Don’t selectors at least have to be first class players in Pakistan)?” Ajay Jadeja asked.
At least they should play minimum number of games!” Nikhil Chopra, another former Indian cricketer, said.
“Are you trying to tell me that a national selector in Pakistan has not even played First-Class cricket?” Jadeja asked again.
“There was a selector, who was a bureaucrat, and was part of the selection committee till about six months ago. Now there is an umpire, but he has played first-class cricket. There is one guy who specialises with stats. I mean why do you needs a stats guy? Will you play with a computer on the ground?” Wasim Akram replied.

India and New Zealand have qualified for the semifinal of the Champions Trophy 2025 from group A, which still has one match remaining. On the other hand, Pakistan and Bangladesh are eliminated form the race to semifinals.
