‘Pakistan takes immense pride in…’: PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi opens up on hosting Champions Trophy

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi thanked his team on Monday March 10 for successfully hosting the ICC Champions Trophy in the country, calling it to be a “historic event for cricket fans worldwide”. India defeated New Zealand by four wickets during the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 at Dubai International Stadium.

This was the first time that Pakistan hosted a major ICC tournament aster co-hosting the 1996 World Cup. On that note, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi showed his appreciation and thanked the team of the board and ICC officials for the Champions Trophy 2025.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated PCB team, the vigilant law enforcement agencies, the supportive provincial governments, the esteemed ICC officials, and the phenomenal cricket teams that traveled to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. Your commitment and collective efforts ensured the seamless execution of this prestigious tournament, transforming it into a resounding success,” Naqvi wrote on X on Monday”

The tournament was played in a hybrid format in three venues in Pakistan- Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi, with India’s matches being held in Dubai, which was considered to be a neutral venue.
