England after winning the toss, were helped by Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow. England finished on 328 in their first innings. For Pakistan it was Sohail Khan who rose with the ball, taking his second ever 5-for in Tests, which was well supported by Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Aamer. Winning the toss, England came out to bat but early jolts kept them on the mat. They lost Alex Hales, James Vince and Gary Ballance in quick successions to give Pakistan the edge till the first two sessions, but a late fightback staged by England’s lower-order propelled their total to 328. Moeen Ali scored his third Test hundred while Jonny Bairstow scored a valiant fifty along with Chris Woakes 45 to give some push to their team’s total. Pakistan brought in debutant, Iftikhar Ahmed in place of Mohammad Hafeez whereas Rahat Ali missed out and Wahab Riaz came in his place for this decisive Test match.
