Shan Masood, the Pakistan opener, has said that his team are still in the second Test against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan were on the backfoot as New Zealand opener Tom Latham remained unbeaten on 137 and took them to 243 for three at the end of Day One.
“We haven’t gotten away from the game yet. I thought we did well to restrict them to 240 odd for three. We would have been worried if they had reached 325 odd for three. The ball is new now and we have to make it count tomorrow morning. We need to take some quick wickets early and then put the pressure back on them by batting well in the first innings,” Masood was quoted in Sport360.
Masood has come in place of Ahmed Shehzad as the latter was injured during the first Test in Abu Dhabi.
