Misbah-ul-Haq remained stranded on 99* as Pakistan were bowled out for 407 in their first innings against West Indies at Sabina Park. With this score, Pakistan have managed a healthy lead of 121 runs over West Indies at the end of the second session on Day Four. Debutant Mohammad Abbas was trapped in his pads by Roston Chase which left the Pakistan Test skipper marooned on 99* – 1 away from what would have been his 11th Test century and 2nd against West Indies. For West Indies, Shannon Gabriel and Alzarri Joseph took 3 wickets each whereas Jason Holder, Devendra Bishoo and Chase took 1 each. Resuming from their score of 322 for 5 from the first session, Pakistan had a disastrous start to the second session as man-in-form Sarfraz Ahmed was cleaned up by Bishoo. Sarfraz was bowled by from behind the legs. This wicket also saw the entire Pakistan tail opened up against a probing West Indies pace attack. Mohammad Aamer (11) tried scoring big runs and in that process managed to hit one six. But he tried to repeat the same thing again and lost his wicket eventually.

Wahab Riaz (9) and Yasir Shah (8) tried their bit to stay at the wicket and accompany their skipper who looks solid from his end. But their resistance did not long last. Abbas playing his maiden Test displayed great determination to stay around accompanying his captain.

Misbah seeing that he was running out of partners decided to cut loose and took to aggressive mode. He went on to score some big sixes against Bishoo eventually getting into the 90s. Abbas, on the other hand, had eased into the game and was looked comfortable defending the deliveries from both pacers and spinners.

But Holder deployed Chase and Bishoo when Misbah got into his 90s hoping for some magic. Both the batsmen were defying the spin attack but Chase finally got the last wicket leaving Misbah stranded on 99*.

Pakistan did take the review but only to be turned down as the ball would have hit the leg stump!

Brief scores:

Pakistan 407 all out (Babar Azam 72, Misbah-ul-Haq 99*; Shannon Gabriel 3 for 92, Alzarri Joseph 3 for 71, Jason Holder 1 for 54) lead West Indies 286 all out (Roston Chase 63, Shane Dowrich 56, Jason Holder 57*; Mohammad Aamer 6 for 44, Yasir Shah 2 for 91) by 121 runs
