Karachi: Pakistan came into the T20 World Cup with great expectations, however, things have gone horribly wrong for them so far in the tournament. They were thrashed by India in the opening game before losing to Zimbabwe by 1 run in their second game which has dented their chances of reaching the semis. There was a lot of hype around the PAK vs ZIM match on social media due to the Mr Bean controversy.

As reported, Zimbabwe fans were upset as a fake Mr Bean was sent to Zimbabwe in a local event. The fans were disappointed after being dealt with reality and called for revenge in the match against Pakistan.

Post Zimbabwe’s win, President of Zimbabwe took a sly dig at Pakistan over the MR. Bean controversy. The tweet got a response from Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who congratulated Zimbabwe for their win over Pakistan.

Now, Asif Muhammad, doppelganger of the British actor Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), has reacted to the controversy.

Speaking to Indian Express, Asif said: “I am a duplicate but if the Zimbabwe President and Pakistan PM can talk about me wishing each other after Zimbabwe’s win, my motive of making the world laugh is fulfilled. There was some light-hearted banter after Pakistan’s loss because of me. What more can I ask for?”

“When the businessmen Muhammad Arif and Muhammad Anees discussed the idea of having me as the brand ambassador in the exhibition in Harare, I was delighted. To meet kids in markets and streets in Harare and seeing them believe I was the real Mr Bean was my biggest earning from that trip. A lot of Indians would also come to meet me at the residence of Anees and would ask me for autographs and selfies. Pakistan se duss guna zyada hospitality hui thi (The hospitality was ten times more than I get in Pakistan),” Asif revealed.
