Nepal cricketer Paras Khadka turns 29 as he celebrates his birthday on Monday. He has been one of the most influential cricketers in his country and played a massive role behind the rise of it in Nepal. Khadka is a middle-order batsman and a medium-fast bowler and has been a vital cog in his side. Nepal relies highly on his services for his all-round abilities. In fact, Khadka has been the figure under whom Nepal have found themselves as a strong unit. Khadka featured in three Under-19 World Cups for Nepal, a feat to boast off. In his initial days in cricket, Khadka was primarily a bowler, who had 23 wickets to his name in 17 games at a staggering average of 18.60 and an economy rate of 3.16. He worked on his batting skills and honed his skills with the bat.

Khadka played a massive role behind Nepal’s maiden Twenty20 International victory, which came against Hong Kong in the ICC World T20 2014. He played well and contributed crucial 41 runs off 37 deliveries. He also scalped a wicket on his very first delivery with the ball in hand and steered his side to a commanding position. Four days later, he also led his side to a win against Afghanistan, which scripted history. Later, he also engineered Nepal’s run-chase against Netherlands.

After Nepal were hit by the earthquake in 2015, cricket took a beating in the country.
