The condition of Punjab Cricket Association’s Joint Secretary G S Walia, who suffered a cardiac attack on the eve of Kings XI Punjab’s match against Mumbai Indians here, is stable, PCA Secretary M P Pandove informed on Thursday.
“He is stable so far as his heart is concerned,” Pandove said, while reacting critically to some reports claiming Walia’s demise.
“He has started responding, there is movement in his limbs. I was in the ICU this morning and he responded when I called out his name and he slightly moved his head, which is a good sign,” Pandove told PTI.
He added that doctors were closely monitoring his condition.
“The doctors carried out a scan of his brain to see if there was any damage. I discussed with the doctors about his condition, they told me they have kept him under sedation for the time being, which is a part of their treatment,” he said.
Pandove added that all the PCA members including President IS Bindra and other members of the cricketing fraternity and well-wishers were hoping for Walia’s quick recovery.(PTI)
