The Pakistan Cricket Board received applications from 10 to 12 candidates for the post of bowling coach with the national cricket academy and the national team.

Till the March 23rd deadline, a PCB official confirmed the coaching committee received around 12 applications including some from foreign based coaches.

“The coaching committee will be meeting this week to scrutinise the list of candidates who have applied for the bowling coach position,” the official said.

Pakistan are on the hunt for a bowling coach after Aaqib Javed resigned during the recent series against England to take up a position of chief coach with the UAE team.

“Some foreigners have applied for the post but now the coaching committee has to sit down and shortlist the best possible candidates,” the official added.

He said that chief coach, Dav Whatmore would be involved in the process of selecting the bowling coach.

“The appointment will be made well before the next series of the Pakistan team which is in Sri Lanka in June-July,” he said.
