Pakistan was hosting an ICC event for the first time in nearly 30 years, in the form of the Champions Trophy 2025. The hosting team has a horrible outing on the pitch, as they faced defeats in their first two group-stage matches and got eliminated from the tournament.
Outside the field, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also facing a massive amount of criticism and backlash from people all around the world, as three of the last five matches in Pakistan venues have been washed off due to rain. The PCB has hence decided to take a massive action regarding this issue.
The last two games in Rawalpindi were completely washed out without a ball being bowled. Considering the criticism the PCB has received for these two clashes, the board has decided that they will refund the price of tickets for most of the spectators who came for those to clashes. This is because PCB guidelines state that the ticket prices will be refunded only in case that the toss does not take place.

The standard tickets will be refunded, but the ticket prices of other categories like box office and gallery will not be up for being refunded. Apart from that, the ticket price for the matches in Lahore, which were washed out too, will not be refunded. This comes as a total of 52 overs were bowled in those matches.
