Peter Moores turns down PCB's offer to coach Pakistan

After being offered the post of head coach of Pakistan by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), former England coach Peter Moores turned the offer down. Moores was in contention along with South African Mickey Arthur and Australians Dean Jones, Tom Moody and Jamie Siddons for the post. While primarily immensely interested, Moores said no to the job as he was not interested to stay away from his family for long period. Moore, apart from coaching the national side, has provided his services for county side Sussex as well but denied to accept the proposal from PCB after official discussions. Talking to espncricinfo.com, “I was hugely flattered to be approached. And I was very tempted by such a prestigious role with an exciting team. But having thought about it deeply, I don’t think it is the right time for me or my family. I have committed myself to a consultancy role with Nottinghamshire and I am enjoying spending time with my kids as they grow up.”
Moores, after his first stint as England coach, was sacked and was reinstated afterwards. The PCB has included former stalwarts, Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja, on its coaching committee to review and shortlist the list of candidates who have applied and recommend names to the board, PTI reported. The PCB has told Zimbabwean Grant Flower to continue as batting coach until September but the source said his extension will depend on the new head coach.
