In an image posted by IPL team Delhi Daredevils on Twitter, newly appointed India coach Anil Kumble and batting coach Sanjay Bangar can be seen spending time with Jayant Yadav and Shahbaz Nadeem at training. Kumble, who was unanimously chosen as the new coach, is currently working with the players at Bengaluru. The former leg-spinner was chosen for this post ahead of former Team Director Ravi Shastri. Bangar, along with Abhay Sharma (fielding coach) were chosen for their respective roles in the side. India will soon tour West Indies for four-match Test series in the month of July-August. Kumble was selected as the new India coach by a panel consisting of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and former BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale. He has been praised by the likes of KL Rahul and Shardul Thakur. The latter said, “I must say he created an impact right in his first interaction itself. I am keen to work with him and learn a lot of things. He is a legend. He has loads of experience and it is going to be very useful to the team and me. I am looking forward to spending time with him on this tour.”

Bangar, the batting coach, was previously the interim head coach of India for the tour to Zimbabwe. He and Abhay Sharma were chosen after consultation of Kumble. “In consultation with Anil Kumble, head coach, Indian cricket team, the BCCI has appointed the following assistant coaches for the India tour of West Indies assistant coach (batting) Sanjay Bangar, assistant coach (fielding) Abhay Sharma,” board secretary Ajay Shirke said in a statement.
