Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson was given a Guard of Honour by the New Zealand players as he walked out to bat for one final time in international cricket. Johnson came out to bat when Adam Voges was dismissed for 119. The New Zealand players gave Johnson an ovation when he came on to bat and he also shook New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum ‘s hand before taking guard. Steven Smith was the first wicket to fall in Day 5 of the 2nd Test at Perth for 138 and he was soon followed by Mitchell Johnson for just one run. With Australia having already secured a lead of 26 runs, they will look to score some quick runs in the second session and declare after half hour or so. New Zealand will come out all guns blazing as they are already 0-1 down in the series. Johnson will be bowling in international cricket for one final time and will hope that he has an impact when Australia come out to defend their target. Johnson has played 74 Tests and 153 One-Day International (ODI) for Australia and picked up over 600 international wickets for his side. He will always be remembered as a fast, aggressive bowlers against whom every batsman n the world struggled. He recently won the ICC Cricket World Cup, where he along with fellow fast bowler Mitchell Starc were key to Australia’s bowling success. Johnson was no mug with the bat either, having scored over 2,000 runs in Tests ans close to 1,000 in ODIs.
