Preston Mommsen out after brave half-century against Sri Lanka at ICC Cricket World Cup 2015

Preston Mommsen lost his wicket to Thisara Perera for 60 off 75 deliveries.

Preston Mommsen has got out for a brave 60 off 75 balls against Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. He’ll be gutted by the way he got out however since it was a half-volley by Thisara Perera that got his wicket. Mommsen latched onto it and timed it well but failed to keep it on the ground and gave the man at covers a catch.

Mommsen has now been replaced by Richie Berrington at the crease accompanying the already set Freddie Coleman. Berrington ahs shown intent in his short stay at the crease and has already smashed a couple of boundaries including a six. But the required run rate is inching towards 12 for Scotland.

Earlier Sri Lanka posted a huge score of 363 riding on excellent centuries from Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan. Scotland enetered the match as underdogs and the first innings justified the tittle. It is not likely that Scotland will make a good chase out of this huge score.
