The Scottish skipper has batted very responsibly against Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 clash. He has been given good support at the other end from Freddie Coleman who also got his half-century a couple of overs earlier. However, despite the effort, chances of a win still look bleak.

Sri Lankan bowlers have appeared worn out and disinterested after reducing Scotland to 44/3 early on. They look full of intent in the beginning but have meandered as the innings has progressed. Mommsen and Coleman have put on a 100+ partnership in the process.

Earlier Sri Lanka posted a huge score of 363 riding on excellent centuries from Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan. Scotland enetered the match as underdogs and the first innings justified the tittle. It is not likely that Scotland will make a good chase out of this huge score.
