India A skipper Shreyas Iyer made 67 off 70 while Ambati Rayudu scored 66 off 88 to drive India A to 275 for seven against South Africa A in the third place play-off of the Quadrangular series KSCA Cricket Ground, Alur on Wednesday.

After being put in to bat, India A lost their openers – Abhimanyu Iswaran (12) and Ravikumar Samarth (23) inside the first 15 overs, before captain Iyer and Rayudu combined of a 130-run stand for the third wicket.

Rayudu was dismissed by medium pacer Beuran Hendricks who finished with three for 39 in his ten overs. Fellow new ball bowler Robert Frylinck also had good day claiming two for 35 from his ten.

Late order hitting from Delhi batsman Nitish Rana (30 off 19), Krunal Pandya (24 off 25) and Deepak Chahar (16 off seven)  ensured that India A posted a competitive total.

For South Africa, pacer Malusi Siboto was the most expensive giving away 54 runs in his five taking one wicket while Sisanda Magala conceded 57 in his eight overs. Left-arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was miserly but went wicket less with figures of 10-0-46-0.
