Goa Ranji Cricket team coach Raghuram Bhat resigned citing personal reasons, within two months after he assumed the charge.

Bhat told PTI that he has sent his resignation to Goa Cricket Association (GCA) but preferred to keep the reasons behind his exit under wraps.

“I have given my resignation letter to GCA. I can’t tell you the contents right now,” he said.

Sources in GCA stated that Bhat was angry over the interference in the selection process of the team by some of the members.

Bhat had joined as coach of the team in July.

The Goa Ranji team is currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

Bhat said he had left the team as he has to attend a family member who is right now in the hospital.

Bhat’s resignation has come ahead of the Goa’s tour to South Africa where they are scheduled to play 3-day and limited over matches against Western Province at Cape Town’s international stadium.

Bhat had replaced Rajesh Kamath, will coach the state side for two years.
