Rahul Dravid: BCCI and Sports Ministry should decide on India-Pakistan series

Dravid's comments came after PCB chief Shahryar Khan visited India to hold talks with BCCI.

Mumbai: Rahul Dravid stated that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), as well as the Sports Ministry to decide on the possibility of an India-Pakistan series. Dravid made his comments during an event at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai.

The former India skipper made his thoughts public after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Shahryar Khan visited India to meet his BCCI counterpart Jagmohan Dalmiya, and hold talks on the possibility of a full tour between the two nations. India and Pakistan have not played a full series since 2007, when Pakistan toured India for three Tests and five One-Day Internationals (ODI). The relations between the two South Asian cricket giants soured following the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The incident led to the BCCI severing its cricketing ties against Pakistan, and banning Pakistani cricketers in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dravid stated in the same event that he did not give a serious thought on applying for the position of coach of India, adding that he was currently focused on his job of mentoring Rajasthan Royals.
