Rahul Dravid was asked whether or not he would like to be the coach of Indian cricket team by Rajdeep Sardesai, during the Dilip Sardesai memorial lecture 2014 on Friday in Mumbai.

“I think there’s a time and place for everything. I’ve enjoyed being in media and mentoring Rajasthan Royals. But yeah in future I would love to be a coach of an Indian team or even the Rajasthan Royals team.”, he said.

Earlier, Dravid had spoken about Dilip Sardesai and said, “Everything I know about Dilip Sardesai is through stories. His partnerships with Eknath Solkar, he once kicked the ball towards boundary when he knew the batsman was ready to run five. There is a great parallel with cricket’s oral tradition and our guru-shishya (teacher-student) relation.”
