Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly shared a light moment at the Taj Bengal lobby on Monday in Kolkata. While Ganguly was heading towards the exit after completing a private meeting, he saw Dravid and Delhi Daredevils coach Paddy Upton waiting at the lobby to get an update on their delayed Air India flight. On seeing the duo, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President went over to them to exchange quick words. Seeing Ganguly dressed in formal grey trouser-white shirt combination, Dravid joked asking his former Indian teammate if “safari suit was next in line?” Ganguly laughed as he responded, “That would take another 20 years.” FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Daredevils , 2nd T20 Match, IPL 2016
Delhi Daredevils lost their opening match to Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Sunday. According to Telegraphindia.com, the duo—Ganguly and Dravid—neither got a chance to meet neither during nor after the match in the stadium. Ganguly however admired the sporty look of Dravid. While Ganguly had a couple of files with him, Dravid was in the Daredevils’ T-shirt with the ubiquitous carry-all bag on one shoulder.
Later Dravid was asked if a transition from a cricketer to administrator was really tough. He said, “It’s challenging, there always are challenges. However, there’s nothing that Sourav can’t face… It’s good that he’s an administrator.” Dravid before his stint with India A-India Under-19’s coach was associated with Karnataka State Cricket association’s managing committee.
Meanwhile, Ganguly became the president of CAB in October 2015 following the demise of CAB’s former chief Jagmohan Dalmiya. It has turned out to be an eventful six months for Ganguly, as the CAB staged a number of World T20 games, including India vs Pakistan and the thrilling final.
