Samit Dravid, son of legendary Indian batter Rahul Dravid, was on Saturday picked into the India under-19 squad for the upcoming multi-format series against Australia.
The 3-match ODI series will be held in Puducherry on September 21, 23 and 26 before the series will roll to Chennai for two 4-day matches beginning on September 30 and October 7.
Samit, a pace-bowling all-rounder, is currently playing for Mysore Warriors in the ongoing KSCA Maharaja T20 trophy in Bengaluru.
However, his performance so far in the competition has been underwhelming. With the bat, he has only managed to score 82 runs from 7 innings with the highest score of 33, and he is yet to bowl in the tournament.
However, earlier this year, Samit performed quite well in the Cooch Behar Trophy, and was a key figure in the Karnataka side that went on to achieve their maiden title triumph.
The 18-year-old made 362 runs from eight matches and his 98 against Jammu and Kashmir stood out for its quality and fluency. Samit also had a memorable tournament with the ball, where he claimed 16 scalps in 8 matches.
