Rain interrupted play in the first cricket one-day match of the Commonwealth Bank tri-series between India and Australia on Sunday.

Put into bat by India, Australia were 35 for 2 after 11 overs when heavens opened up in the first match of the tri-series, which also features Sri Lanka.

For Australia, Matthew Wade (21) and skipper Michael Clarke (5) were at the crease when the disruption occurred.

Australian cricket team suffered a massive blow today after its veteran pace spearhead Brett Lee was ruled out of the entire ODI tri-series against India and Sri Lanka due to a broken foot.

The 35-year-old pacer will remain out of action for four to six weeks, also leaving him in doubt for the tour of West Indies starting March 16. (PTI)

Brief Scores: Australia 35 for 2 in 11 overs (Matthew Wade 21*; R Vinay Kumar 2 for 8) vs India.
