Rain halts Sri Lanka’s progress against New Zealand in one-off T20

New Zealand were strugglilng at 24 for five when rain halted play in their one-off T20 against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on Tuesday.

 

Put in to bat first, New Zealand made a disastrous start to their innings losing the top order cheaply.

 

Thisara Perera and Nuwan Kulasekara were the chief tormentors of the Kiwis, as they took two wickets each.

 

Earlier, Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and elected to field against New Zealand.

 

Brief Scores: New Zealand 24 for 5 in 8.4 overs (BJ Watling 5*, Ross Taylor 4, Tom Latham 4; Thisara 2 for 4, Nuwan Kulasekara 2 for 6) vs Sri Lanka.
