Chasing 165, Rajasthan Royals have steadied their ship against Mumbai Indians in the ninth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015. Steven Smith got going the moment he came out to bat, hitting the gaps, rotating the strike to keep the scoreboard ticking. Both him and Rahane have looked good and are taking their time to set the platform for the hitters down the order to take control later on in the innings. They are 69 for one at the half-way mark.
While Ajinkya Rahane has been very sedate in his approach, Sanju Samson was happy to take a few risks to keep the scoreboard ticking. Samson though did not last long enough as he was dismissed for 17 trying to chip Vinay Kumar. Rohit Sharma took the catch and that was the first wicket for Mumbai. Mumbai Indians earlier got to the total of 164/5 thanks to a superb stand between Kieron Pollard and Corey Anderson. Mumbai were reeling at 45/3 after 10 overs but both of them came together to add 104 runs for the fourth wicket stand. While Anderson was the first one to attack, Pollard outscored him to score a 34-ball 70. Anderson was dismissed for 50 in the last over but by that time the damage had been done. Rajasthan Royals were brilliant in first half of their bowling innings but fell away in the later half of the first innings. Live Scorecard: Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians
