Bandeep Singh scored a patient unbeaten half century to lift Jammu and Kashmir to 173 for six at the close of play on day one in a Ranji Trophy Group C match against Andhra Pradesh at Anantapur.
Sent in to bat, Bandeep scored an unbeaten 68 off 237 balls to keep alive Jammu and Kashmir’s innings. He struck nine boundaries and two sixes in the process.
At stumps, Samiullah Beigh was giving Bandeep company on 27.
Apart from Bandeep, wicketkeeper Adil Rishi (32) and Manzoor Dar (35) also chipped with useful contributions.
For Andhra, off-spinner Shaik Basha picked up two wickets conceding 43 runs.
