Kerala’s reply was no better as both their openers departed without disturbing the scoreboard. At stumps, Robert Fernandez (14) and skipper Sachin Baby (19) were holding fort for the visitors. pacer Anwar Ahmed picked up two wickets.

Hyderabad 201 (A Ashish Reddy 55, S Sandeep Warrier 5 for 38) lead Kerala 45 for 3 (Rohan Prem 19*, Anwar Ahmed 2 for 13) by 156 runs.
