Adil Rishi and skipper Parvez Rasool scored unbeaten centuries before pacer Mohammed Mudhasir returned with a five—wicket haul to guide Jammu and Kashmir to a convincing 278 runs win over Kerala in a Ranji Trophy Group C match.
Jammu and Kashmir rode on opener Rishi’s 160 off 190 balls and Rasool’s breezy 100 off 101 balls to declare their second innings at 337 for two and set an improbable 408 runs before Kerala for an outright win.
Then pace trio of Mudhasir (5 for 31), Samiullah Beigh (3 for 47) and Ram Dayal (2 for 28) exploited the conditions perfectly to bowl out Kerala for 129 runs in 41.4 overs to ensure six points for Jammu and Kashmir.
Captain Sachin Baby top-scored for the visitors with 38 while opener Abhishek Hegde made 32. Earlier, resuming at the overnight score of 111 for one, Jammu and Kashmir lost Bandeep Singh for 24.
But then Rishi and Rasool joined hands and played aggressively to share 171 runs off 175 balls to give Jammu and Kashmir bowlers enough time to bowl out Kerala. Rishi struck 18 boundaries and one six during his knock while Rasool laced his innings with 11 fours.
