Murumulla Sriram’s half-century helped Andhra reach 179 for 4 in their first innings on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group C match here on Tuesday. Jharkhand began the day at 215 for nine, but the last-wicket pair of Rituraj Singh (24*) and Ashish Kumar (12) frustrated Andhra for almost 13 overs, taking the score up to 246 all out.

Andhra, in reply, lost their opener Srikar Bharat (0) in the first over, but Prasanth Kumar (33) and Sriram led a recovery through a 95-run second-wicket stand. Sriram eventually fell for 71, with 12 fours, but AG Pradeep’s unbeaten 39 dragged Andhra to 179 for 4 at stumps at Dr PVG Raju ACA Sports Complex. Andhra now trail by 67 runs with six wickets remaining in their first innings.
