Ishank Jaggi smashed an unbeaten double hundred as Jharkhand pummelled Hyderabad‘s bowling to declare at 556 for nine before reducing the visiting side to 55 for one on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match on Thursday.
Overnight 295 for four, the home team rode Jaggi’s 342-ball 201 to post the mammoth score, in which Kaushal Singh’s 69 was another notable contribution today. Yesterday Saurabh Tiwary had laid a strong foundation for the team with his 192-ball 100. Jaggi’s double ton was laced with 13 fours and a six, while Kaushal struck seven fours and a six during his 132-ball stay at the crease. For Hyderabad, Akash Bhandari was the pick of the bowlers with figures of four for 136 in 40.2 overs.
In reply, Akshath Reddy (20) and Hanuma Vihari (23) were holding fort for tourists after opener Tanmay Agarwal’s early dismissal. He contributed just 6 runs to the total before falling to pacer Varun Aaron.
